PDC Drill Bits

PDC Drill Bits

MSD supplies PDC drill bits for full-hole, non-coring rotary drilling in matrix body, steel body, and integrated Bi-Center designs. Compare the current product directions and configuration fields, then submit the required diameter, connection, flushing method, equipment, formation, and working conditions for review.

Frequently Asked
Questions

MSD currently presents three PDC drill bit directions: Matrix Body PDC Bits, Steel Body PDC Bits, and integrated Bi-Center PDC Bits. Matrix and steel describe body construction, while Bi-Center describes a specialized architecture. This category covers complete full-hole, non-coring bits and excludes PDC core bits, reamers, rock reamers, hole openers, HDD pilot tooling, and anchor tooling.
Matrix body and steel body are two body-construction directions within the MSD full-hole PDC bit range. Body construction is only one selection field, so the choice should be reviewed together with diameter, profile, cutter and blade configuration, nozzle or port arrangement, connection, flushing method, formation, working condition, and equipment information.
A Bi-Center PDC bit is an integrated full-hole, non-coring drill bit with a pilot cutting section and an eccentric reaming section in one bit body. It is reviewed where the assembled tool must pass through a smaller opening and then drill a larger final or reaming diameter. Pass-through size and final diameter must be provided together.
Provide the required finished hole diameter, drilling application, formation and working condition, rig and drill-string information, connection, flushing method, and quantity. Also identify any required body construction or bit architecture, profile, cutter size, blade count, and nozzle or port arrangement. For Bi-Center bits, include the pass-through size, final or reaming diameter, and limiting-opening details.
Yes. MSD can review standard replacements, project-specific requirements, and non-standard PDC bit configurations for water well, mining, geothermal, and construction or engineering drilling. Availability and suitability must be confirmed from the complete dimensional, connection, equipment, flushing, formation, and working-condition information, together with drawings, photographs, measured dimensions, or samples where available.
