Cutting Picks Product Range

Road Milling Picks

Road Milling Picks are used for road milling, asphalt pavement milling, concrete pavement milling, and pavement rehabilitation. This product group is the relevant starting point for milling-machine and pavement-removal applications.

The current MSD range is organized into 20 mm and 22 mm shank groups. Review the dedicated product page for the available dimensions, then confirm the existing pick, shank size, holder, milling drum, and pavement conditions before ordering.

Bullet Teeth for Foundation and Rotary Drilling

Bullet Teeth are intended for foundation drilling, rotary drilling, and piling applications using tools such as rock augers, auger buckets, and core barrels. This category refers to foundation and rotary drilling tools rather than agricultural or garden auger teeth.

The current MSD Bullet Teeth range uses a 30 mm shank group. Selection should be based on the drilling application, tool body, holder, existing pick dimensions, and ground conditions, with product-specific dimensions reviewed on the Bullet Teeth page.

Coal Mining Picks

Coal Mining Picks are used for mechanical coal cutting with underground coal mining machinery, including shearer cutting applications. They are cutting-machine components, not hand pickaxes or general-purpose mining hand tools.

The current MSD range is organized into 30 mm and 35 mm shank groups. The required group should be confirmed against the holder, cutting head, current pick dimensions, machine information, and coal-cutting conditions.

Roadheader Picks

Roadheader Picks are used on roadheader cutting heads for tunnelling, underground roadway excavation, and mining roadway excavation. This product group is selected for mechanical excavation by a roadheader, not for warehouse or logistics picking.

The current MSD Roadheader Picks range uses a 38 mm shank group. Confirm the cutting head, holder, current pick dimensions, excavation application, and ground conditions before reviewing the available product dimensions on the dedicated page.

How to Select the Correct Cutting Pick Category

Start with the cutting application: choose Road Milling Picks for pavement milling; Bullet Teeth for foundation and rotary drilling; Coal Mining Picks for mechanical coal cutting; or Roadheader Picks for roadheader excavation and tunnelling.

After identifying the category, confirm the machine or cutting-system type, existing pick type, shank diameter, holder, cutting material or ground condition, and required dimensions. A shank diameter is one part of the selection process and does not by itself establish compatibility.

Detailed sizes and available models should be checked on the corresponding product page and reviewed against the actual machine and holder information.

Replacement and Matching Information

For a replacement requirement, provide information from the current pick and holder wherever possible. Useful references include the current pick dimensions, shank dimensions, holder details, machine or cutting-system information, application, photographs, drawings, and samples.

Existing markings and previous order information can also support dimensional review. Similar product names, nominal shank sizes, or visual appearance should not be treated as confirmation of interchangeability.
